There are two S61N helicopters based at Mount Pleasant Airfield in the Falkland Islands with a full complement of pilots, aircrew and engineers.A major part of the work undertaken by the Company is long-term military contracts providing support for Ministry of Defence operations.
There are two S61N helicopters based at Mount Pleasant Airfield in the Falkland Islands with a full complement of pilots, aircrew and engineers.
The role of the aircraft is to provide the military garrison with helicopter transportation of both personnel and equipment throughout the Islands.
The aircraft are available 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
There are two AS365N2 helicopters providing support for Royal Navy Operational Sea Training (OST) at Plymouth City Airport where the Company has its engineering and maintenance headquarters.
These aircraft undertake such diverse roles such as:
o VIP Transport
o Ship-to-Ship and Ship-to-Shore Transfers
o Winch Transfers
o Radar Calibration
o Flight Deck Training
o Search and Rescue and Casevac Assistance
The Company supports various Royal Navy and NATO exercises. Using specially equipped S61 helicopters to meet military requirements, passenger and freight transfer services, including transfers by hoist, are provided to ships exercising both in the Atlantic and the North Sea.
